GREENS 30-45 days ( lettuce, mesclun, salad stuff) I plant almost as a cover crop, broadcasting seeds in any open spot and under tall plants like like Kale because greens don’t like heat or too much summer sun. Greens also will companion with everything!

Harvesting starts mid June and can be cut at least twice a week.Four Kale plants can feed a family of 5 easy once or twice a week. With freeze cloth rated to 26 degrees,I had kale in the sample beds till Thanksgiving. Companions: salad greens, spicy mesclun, herbs

ONION: 70 days, space 3-4” apart. Plant early and often if youlike green onions like we do. Use sets and the big ones aren’t always better. Companions: swiss chard, beets, tomatoes, and lettuce

PEAS: 55-60 days, space 6” seeds apart and grow on a fence trellis for support. Companions: Squash, peppers, basil and most root crops.
